I can still go back to the first particle object and that one works fine, but if I want to adjust the expressions on the second particle object I need to open up the Expression Editor from the main menu and use the object filter to get to the particles expressions (or restart Maya and choose that particle first the next time). So I restart Maya, adjust one particle object's expressions, then go to the other particle object and this happens. Specifically the second one I try to adjust the expressions on. To be clear, this is happening on only one of the two particle objects. When I right click it gets highlighted with a blue box as if I left clicked it and other than that nothing happens. When trying to add/adjust expressions on the particles I am having trouble because one of the particle objects does not show the right click menu at all when I right click an attribute under "Per Particle (Array) Attributes" so I cannot choose "Creation Expression" (or anything else on the right click menu). Click here to find out more about UV layout or click down below to go back on top.So, I have two nParticle objects in a scene. The next stage in creating 3d art after 3d modeling is UV unwrapping and layout. That concludes the list of polygon modeling tools in Maya.

Similar to Target Weld, Click+dragging a vertex to a nearby vertex merges those vertices.Press Shift+Ctrl and hover over an outside edge loop.As soon as the face is highlighted, press delete. Loop – This mode will extend or extrude a selected loop of edges.ħ.Edge – This mode will only extend or extrude a single edge.Border – This model will extend an entire border of selected edges.Pointing to Extend exposes 3 more options: To activate the marking menu, press Shift+Ctrl while right-clicking over an active Quad Draw polygon object.ĭoing this will show a marking menu. While TAB is still pressed, click-drag those edges out to do an edge extension.Įdge extend has (3) modes that can be accessed by activating a marking menu. Edge Extend – Holding TAB while hovering over an outside edge will highlight those edges while displaying an ‘xtend’ message.Insert Edge Loops -Holding CTRL while hovering over edge rings displays a preview of where an edge loop will be.Here are additional ways to add more polygon faces on top of what was originally created from the last three steps: To continue creating additional faces, repeat step 4. Click once to complete the face creation.A preview face will appear indicating where the face will be. Hold Shift while hovering over inside those 4 points. Now that the object is live, click on 4 points on that surface to indicate a polygon face placement.Activate the tool by any of the ways listed above.Alternatively, press the magnet icon located on the status line. While that model is selected, make that object live by going to the menu Modify>Make Live.

Select a high-res model that needs to have a low-res, retopologized version.
